3.00.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Tue 17th Oct 2006

Today, Jenny Willott, welcomed the announcement of G24i will be investing £60m in Cardiff and employing 300 people to manufacture a new state of the art renewable technology called the 'solar foil'.

Commenting, Jenny said:

"This is fantastic news. Not only will Cardiff benefit from this major investment and the jobs it will create, but it is another strong indication of the huge potential of the Welsh renewable energy sector.

"The Government and Assembly must embrace new technologies like the solar foil and give people greater incentives to take them up in their homes.

"The solar foil could be a considerable help in the fight against fuel poverty which is likely to hit over 300,000 households in Wales alone this winter."
