LIB DEM MP SAYS "ACT NOW" ON CLIMATE CHANGE12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Tue 20th Oct 2009 Jenny Willott, Welsh Liberal Democrat MP for Cardiff Central, is urging her constituents to act now on climate change ahead of a vote tomorrow (Wednesday) on the Liberal Democrat Opposition Day motion for the Government to sign up to the 10:10 campaign. Jenny has signed up to the 10:10 challenge and will be voting to get Parliament and central Government to sign up too. Jenny will be speaking at two meetings this month to highlight the importance of success at the Copenhagen summit on climate change and to offer Cardiff residents the chance to ask questions and to find out more about the summit. Jenny said: "We all know how serious climate change is, and that we must act now to halt the catastrophic impact climate change will have on our world. "This vote is a unique opportunity to get the Government finally to put its money where its mouth is by signing up to a truly ambitious target and kick-start UK action to combat climate change. "The Kyoto Protocol was a vital, but very small, step in the right direction. It's essential for our future that we secure an ambitious and well funded deal at the Copenhagen summit this December. "I hope as many Cardiff residents as possible will join me at these two meetings to discuss what is undoubtedly one of the most important issues of our time".
