FIREWORKS NIGHT SHOULD GO OFF WITH A BANG, SAFELY - WILLOTT

12.00.00am GMT Wed 4th Nov 2009

Commenting ahead of fireworks night (Thursday), Jenny Willott, Welsh Liberal Democrat MP for Cardiff Central, said:

"Fireworks night is definitely a time to let your hair down. But people need to be careful and make sure that fireworks are being used safely and properly.

"There are hundreds of needless injuries from fireworks ever year, especially when alcohol is involved.

"If people in Cardiff are concerned about anyone fooling around with fireworks, or starting impromptu dangerous bonfires, they should alert the authorities immediately by calling the 101 number."
